What 25 minutes a day did for me

You don't think 25 minutes is enough time for a "real" workout?? Well, I didn't think so either. I bought T25 in a challenge pack with my Shakeology (mostly because it was too good a deal to pass up!) I let it sit in the box for a good 4 months (maybe more, I don't really remember). I was training for the Dopey Challenge and I was running literally 80 miles- 100 miles A WEEK!!! That was like 2-3 hours a day and I wasn't seeing ANY changes to my body!!! My legs weren't toned like I wanted them to be and my arms (since you really don't use them running) were getting a little jiggly. But I was exercising right??? Fast forward a bit to after Dopey. I really didn't want to run anymore, simply put... I couldn't see any alternative to keep my fitness level up without running more and more and more and that thought was simply not an option. My family was suffering from lack of my time and something had to change. That's when I remembered that I had T25 still in the box next to my bed (honesty!!).
The thought of "just" working out for 25 minutes scared me (and Shaun T scared me!). My hubs had done insanity and I was not ready for that kind of commitment to this type if workout.

The first day I put the DVD in... I sweat and I was SORE but I had made the commitment to myself that I would give it a chance. Day 2 speed 1.0- I was IN LOVE!!! Day 3 was AWFUL!!! Total Body Circuit- I felt like a weakling! I modified every move but I kept pushing play every day. When it was time for me to move to Beta I had the exact same fears of the unknown and they were warranted. The workouts are HARD!!!! But I saw my body changing, I saw muscles in my legs and arms and I had ABS!! (Baby abs but still abs!)  So what I use 5 lb. weights - that's is what I do and the only person I need to compare myself is me.

I noticed a few days ago that when I was doing my girl push-ups (weakling here) that they were getting kinda easier. So... I will be aiming for half real push-ups and half girl push-ups and then I will try to do all regular push-ups. It's all about setting goals and trying to get better every time. After my workout today (upper focus) I was able to SEE a huge difference in my arms and shoulders!!

That NEVER would have happened had I just continued to only run. I am so thankful that I took the leap and became a Beachbody Coach and that I get to share with others what has worked for me. Not everyone likes doing the same workouts but it's all about encouraging others to meet their goals. Whether those goals are weight related, fitness, nutrition...we all are continuing to evolve and can use encouragement to just keep pushing. I am not done...I have a t25 challenge group starting soon and after this cycle I am going to just face my fears and do Insanity!! Who knows what the future holds for me but I know that I am blessed by the people I have gotten to meet and those who inspire me to be the best I can be for myself and my family... And I get to work out less and see RESULTS!!!
