So, Where Do I Start?

So... Where do I start?
I think this a common question that everyone asks themselves at one point or another. First thing you have to do is decide that you actually want to reach a certain goal. Let's take healthy eating for example. You have to truly WANT to eat healthier or else you are doomed from the start. I have been known to buy tons of veggies only to have them go bad sitting in my refrigerator because I don't truly WANT to eat them. I know they are what I should be eating but let's face it -those cookies taste so much better to me than the broccoli that I should be eating right? So the next thing once you have decided you WANT to eat healthier is to find some healthy foods that you actually WANT to eat. So instead of me buying a ton of broccoli maybe I should buy brussels sprouts or cauliflower (I actually really like those) and have things that I know I will actually eat.
The same concept applies to exercise. There are sooooooo many options out there from gym classes, running outside, paddleboarding at the beach, or tons of the workouts that you can do from home with beachbody. The key to successfully working out is finding that specific workout that you WANT to do. I am a more cardio person (duh!) so the things I want to do are running and T25 and I will admit that I judged Piyo harshly when I bought it and now I LOVE it! Why?? Because I need it and it makes me feel good! Exercise isn't supposed to make you feel badly about yourself. It isn't there to make you feel like a failure if you didn't get the time or the number of reps you wanted. Is it easy?? NO! But if you find something that you like to do and can see improvements (even teeny tiny ones) then you are successful!! I see people all the time give up on programs because they are "too hard" but maybe that just wasn't the right program for YOU!! I love cardio but I KNOW that Insanity is a bit too much for me - not forever but for right now!  I don't feel like a failure because I don't want to do that program -it isn't what fits for me and yes there is something that will fit for you! It's a matter of getting out there, trying things, failing, trying more things, failing, and finding the thing you like.
I know it sounds like a lot of work but if you want to make the changes you have to be willing to do the work.
So... Go...Do.... Today!
